Enugu Rangers International has given hint of its plans for the 2015/16 football season campaign with the en-engagement of Imama Amapakabo as the technical head of its coaching crew for the coming season.
The Governing Board of the Coal City Flying Antelopes emerged from its last meeting of the year with the decision to appoint Imama as the technical adviser of the team.
Coach Imama came to Rangers as chief coach working under the shadow of ‘Catapillar’ Kelechi Emeteole. But following a string of poor results, Emeteole was asked to step aside and Imama given an opportunity to thinker the Enugu team.
Now, the governing board of the club has reviewed his performances and felt that he be elevated to the position of technical adviser.
Foster Chime, Public Relations Officer/Director, Media and Publicity of Rangers, said immediately after the meeting that in appointing Imama, the board decorated him with a tall order to bring the premier league trophy to Enugu at the close of the season next year as well as the Federation Cup or all of the above.
Chime said the Rangers’ management board was not happy that the club had not played on the continent for a long time and that Imama must correct this weakness.
Rangers ended its campaign last season with a middle-of-the pack performance and an FA Cup semi-final ouster.
