UGWUANYI INAUGURATES LG CARETAKER COMMITTEE

The era of running the local government system from hotels is over in Enugu State.  You must therefore, reside in your local government areas and be in your offices.

Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi handed down the instruction to the newly inaugurated 17 local government caretaker committee chairmen and their deputies at Government House, Enugu.

Governor Ugwuanyi drummed it into their ears that the government and people of Enugu State expected good results from them and they could not afford to disappoint them.

Speaking earlier, the state commissioner for local government, Chief Chijioke Edeoga, called on the appointees to be mindful of their obligations in their various council areas.

Responding on behalf of others, caretaker chairperson of Nsukka local government area, Professor Rose Onah, pledged that they would live above board.

Three former council chairmen- Prince Cornelius Nnaji (Enugu East), Mr. Afam Okereke (Nkanu West) and were retained in the new dispensation. Onwubuya  (Uzo-Uwani) Colonel.

Among the newly appointed chairmen are Chidi Ekwe (Aninri), Stanley Okereke (Awgu), Igwe Isaac Chukwudi (Enugu North), Sunday Ugwu (Enugu South) and Benjamin Edeoga (Isi-Uzo).

Others are Fred Ezinwa (Ezeagu), Malachy Agbo (Igbo-etiti), Uwakwe Ezeja (Igboeze North), Dr. Fidelis Odo (Igboeze South), Godwin Ubagu (Nkanu East).

Also sworn in Boniface Uchendu (Oji River), Frank Ugwu (Udenu), and Hyacinth Ngwu (Udi).
