ADORTION WORKERS’ LOVE FEAST- FR. MBAKA TREATS WORKERS TO SPECIAL DELICACIES AS ONE COLLAPSES ON WINNING RAV 4 JEEP

The workers of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria have never had it, this good as the  Spiritual Director of the Ministry, Rev. Fr. Ejike Camillus Mbaka Tuesday, the 22nd December 2015, treated them to nice delicacies in the Love Feast he organized for them to mark the end of the year.

The Old Adoration Ground at Christ the King Parish, GRA which served as the venue of the event, was thickly populated by a crowd of Adoration workers numbering above one thousand. They sat in different canopies at the ground in their various groups ranging from children Intercessors group.  Band group, Singing Ministry, Vineyard Workers to Prayer Warriors. Others were the Stewards, the Security, the Engineers, Camera Team, the SuperNews family and so on.

Not less than five cows were slaughtered for the entertainment of the workers. About Five coolers of food filled with rice, swallows, different soups, pepper soup were positioned at the middle of the arena. Beside them were uncountable crates of Rapha Juice, the latest product of Aqua Rapha Investment Ltd, and bags of Satchets of Aqua Rapha water to wash down the delicacies.

The high point of the event was the coming into the arena by the Spiritual Director of the Ministry who drove in about 8pm after he concluded the end of year mass he celebrated for the members of the Christian Women Organization of the Parish. He was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Barr. Andreal Osuagwu.

Addressing the workers, the Spiritual Director thanked them for their work and dedication in the ministry and told them that the essence of the gathering was to appreciate them for their sacrifice in the Ministry.  He highlighted the activities of the various groups of the workers, commended them and pointed out their areas of lapses with a view to making amends in the coming year.

During his opening prayers, he said: “O Lord, fill this environment with love. It is for the sake of love that you came down from heaven and died. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believed in him shall not perish but shall have eternal life. Under this code and covenant of love, we bless this togetherness; we bless this ceremony. We stand in the book of Psalm 133:1 and re-echo how wonderful, precious and beautiful it is when brethren gather together in love.  It is like the oil of anointing in the head of Aaron flowing from head to his bears.”

Continuing, he told the workers: “You must shed tears of joy today. We speak upon your destiny in the book of Psalm 145:16 and the Holy Book says that God showers his people with grace which he calls favour.  I lift up my hand and bless you in fulfillment of God’s work in Luke 4:19 where he said: “I have come to decree a year of favour and assure you under this prophetic code that this year will not end without you having favour.

He used the opportunity to announce the donation of a Rav 4 jeep to the workers which according him, would have to be contested for among them by ballot and that whoever it fell on, would go home with it.  In his words: “We didn’t buy this car because we don’t know what to do with money.  It is like when parents buys clothes for their Children.  They don’t do it because there is money everywhere but for the children to be happy. We shall pray before we ballot for the car and our prayer – point is that we are saying goodbye to poverty in Adoration Ministry this year, 2015.”

A mild drama ensued at the arena after the workers had eaten to their fill with several coolers of food and drinks as leftovers.  Fr. Mbaka went round to propose a toast to each group as they responded with cheers and songs of appreciation to the Spiritual Director.

The ceremony came to an end at about 1am but not before the car was balloted for. In balloting for the car, all the leaders of the various groups of workers in the ministry were called out to pick the ballot. The group whose leader picked “yes” had another ballot conducted for all its members.

An atmosphere of suspense be filled the arena when the balloting started and many prayed they could be the lucky winner. While some engaged in group prayers, other muttered their prayers in their hearts. There were many who just stood glued to the car claiming the anointing upon it and speaking in tongues over it.

One thing was sure, one among the workers would go home with the car in the end just like that. There was commotion in the air when, at the end of the process, the lot fell on Faith Okonkwo one of the workers from Praise and Worship group.  Upon her declaration as the winner, she collapsed on the ground and fainted. Fr. Mbaka helped to jolt her back to life and to the reality of the situation that she came with her legs but would be going with a Rav 4 Jeep. Incredible!

AMEN SuperNews later engaged the winner in an exclusive interview where she revealed that she hails from Ihie in Awgu Local Government Area and is a sophomore in the university. She revealed that she joined the Praise and Worship Band three years ago and happened to be the same girl who had earlier during the gathering of the workers in preparation of the 2015 crusade, offered N2000 to Fr. Mbaka to give to one of the mentally challenged persons, Prince Maduka, who was disturbing the peace of the gathering.  She wondered if that was why God decided to reward her. She also revealed that she never believed it was real and kept  thanking Fr Mbaka and blessing the name of God amongst friends who gathered to celebrate her victory with her.
