Amapakabo led Rangers to win the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) league after 32 years of title drought.
Coach Imama Amapakabo, on Wednesday 26th of October, 2016 signed a two-year contract with Rangers International FC, Enugu.
Rangers’ Media Director, Foster Chime, told sports journalists in Enugu that Amapakabo had put pen to paper with the club’s management.
“This has ended the speculation whether Amapakabo is going to continue with Rangers or not,’’ Chime said.
The media director, however, did not disclose the terms, conditions and privileges in the contract but said it was a “handsome package“.
He said that the club’s management would be looking forward to also renewing contract of assistant coaches of the club as their current contracts expired on Oct. 31.
“However, the management would also be looking on how to trim the current nine assistant coaches of the club to a manageable number,’’ the media director said.
He revealed that the management had set a committee headed by the Secretary of the club, Steve Oruruo, to work and harmonise with Coach Amapakabo on technical programmes for the 2016/2017 NPFL and Confederation of African Football (CAF).
“The committee will assist Amapakabo to see how the programme for the two leagues – NPFL and CAF 2016/2017 season – would work and aid the club in achieving its target,’’ he said.
