Enugu New Compol Briefs the Press, Parades Suspects

In a maiden briefing cum meeting with the Enugu media operatives today at the State Police Command headquarters, Enugu, the new Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed N.Aliiyu, has extended his hands of fellowship to the members of the Enugu Press.

The  Commissioner  stated that as members of the Fourth Estate of Realm that there was need for collaboration between them and the Police stressing that” you constitute a critical segment of stakeholders in the peace and security architecture of the state, given your role in communicating acts of crime, criminality and crises situations to the general public”

Mr Aliyu averred that” as a matter of fact, I need your valuable inputs and support to effectively police the state”, pointing out that he has extended his hands of fellowship to the media and enjoined them in fighting acts of crimes and criminality in the state especially through reportage of security related incidents with utmost professionalism and manner.

The Police boss eulogized the Enugu state Governor, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his” overwhelming support to the police and other security agencies” opining that his high since of security consciousness, friendliness and love for peace have contributed immensely to the success recorded so far.

The Commissioner used the occasion to parade some suspects which included armed robbery, rape, defilement and other suspects as well items recovered from them which counted a Toyota Camry car, tricycles, motorcycles, guns and ammunition, phones and other valuables..

He enjoined all the people of the state to remain law abiding and for all other security agencies to synergize toward ensuring peace and combat crimes.
